Opening of the Adven Energy Centre for E-Piim with AGRO steam boiler system

E-Piim is one of the largest cheese and butter producers in Estonia. The new Adven Energy Center was opened on site on 13 June 2024. The history of E-Piim dates back to 1910 and 1911, when the first two co-operatives were founded. Today, E-Piim produces a variety of cheeses, butter and other flavoursome dairy products from the milk of local farmers’ cows.

Adven and E-Piim have been working together in the interests of sustainability for around 20 years. The Energy Centre that has now opened is the largest of its kind for the food industry in Estonia.

AGRO was commissioned by Adven to supply E-Piim with a 20 tonne biomass-fired saturated steam boiler system with AGRO Turbo Challenger. Our Turbo Challenger combines our moving grate firing system with vertical cyclone combustion and thus enables a significant reduction in nitrogen oxides with the most flexible use of fuel possible: even challenging biomass, such as waste wood, can be better utilised thermally.

The biomass plant is also equipped with our AGRO Efficiency Booster. This is a predictive fuel moisture measurement system that permanently provides the control system with the current fuel data. This allows fuel dosing and O2 content to be optimised and a high level of efficiency to be achieved.
