Voelkel – the organic juice producer, one of Germany’s leading organic pioneers in fruit and vegetable juices, has taken another important step towards sustainable energy supply at its Pevestorf site. With the construction of the new biomass heating plant, Voelkel is consistently pursuing its goal of gradually moving away from fossil fuels. This will save up to 80 per cent of the previous gas consumption.
At the heart of the plant is a steam boiler system with a capacity of 6 t/h, equipped with the AGRO Twin Turbo Challenger. It reliably supplies the production process with process steam and meets the highest standards of efficiency, operational safety and environmental compatibility. The biomass heating plant was implemented by AGRO Forst & Energietechnik GmbH as a holistic solution for heat supply and process steam generation – including fuel storage.
Only natural biomass from the region is used, such as wood chips, bark, forest residues, shrub cuttings and landscape maintenance material. In this way, Voelkel is not only making an active contribution to climate protection, but also strengthening regional value creation. With the successful implementation of this project, Voelkel GmbH underlines that sustainable management, technological innovation and corporate responsibility go hand in hand. The new plant is another milestone on the road to a climate-friendly, independent and sustainable energy supply.
