Carli Punto Verde produces high-quality feed pellets from various grasses, especially lucerne. Animals throughout Europe, whether sheep, cattle or horses, are delighted with the flavourful feed range.
What began as a small family business in the 1960s has grown considerably over the years: today, the Carli Group cultivates over 40,000 hectares and sells around 350,000 tonnes of products per year, including feed pellets and roughage bales for animal feed.
Carli Punto Verde now relies on heat from AGRO for drying. Originally, the drum dryers were operated with oil or gas firing systems. In order to be able to produce the feed pellets in a CO2-neutral way, AGRO has developed a special firing system that heats the drum dryer with biomass. The temperature of the flue gas for the dryer can be precisely controlled in a mixing chamber.
As not only the raw material for the animal feed, but also the wood chips that serve as fuel are produced by the farmers, the products can be manufactured in an energy self-sufficient and CO2-neutral way using this technology.
